Comprehensive physiotherapy for your horse – improving health and freedom of movement
Our equine physiotherapy service provides specialist care aimed at renewal, regeneration,
and maintaining the physical fitness of horses. We offer individually tailored treatments and rehabilitation plans that help treat injuries, reduce pain, improve the overall condition of the musculoskeletal system, and increase psychophysical comfort.
1. Physiotherapeutic diagnostics – the first step in the rehabilitation process is a detailed analysis of the horse’s health condition, which includes
- Postural analysis
- Observation of the horse in motion
- Assessment of joint range of motion
- Palpation examination allowing the localization of dysfunctions
Based on the assessment, the physiotherapist develops an individual therapy plan, taking into account the horse’s health condition, current training activity, and rehabilitation needs.
2. Rehabilitation and regeneration – depending on diagnostic results, we apply individually selected physiotherapy techniques such as
- Therapeutic massage – improves blood circulation, reduces muscle tension, and supports regeneration
- Manual therapy – stretching and joint mobilization techniques improving joint mobility
- Electrotherapy – the use of currents with appropriate frequency, providing analgesic effects and supporting tissue repair processes
- Magnetotherapy – the use of a magnetic field with appropriate parameters to accelerate tissue healing, reduce pain, and decrease inflammation
- Hirudotherapy – the use of medicinal leeches to reduce swelling, improve microcirculation, detoxify the body, and support tissue regeneration
- Taping – taping techniques helping to reduce pain and support re-education of movement patterns
- Dry needling – analgesic effect achieved by reducing the activity of excessively tense trigger points in muscles
- Sensorimotor pads – exercises with pads strengthen stabilizing muscles and support rehabilitation of deep sensation
3. Reviews and monitoring of therapy effects – after each series of treatments, we conduct reviews of therapeutic progress. Continuous monitoring of rehabilitation effectiveness allows us to adjust the therapy plan to the horse’s changing needs, ensuring the best possible results.
When is physiotherapy worth considering?
After injuries – strains, dislocations, contusions
During intensive training – support in preparing the body for exertion and subsequent recovery
When movement problems occur – lameness, joint stiffness, limited range of motion
During post-operative rehabilitation – support for faster recovery after surgical procedures
In case of training difficulties – difficulty performing exercises, nervousness
When degenerative diseases occur – bone spavin, arthritis
During exposure to high stress – nervous, overreactive horses
Preventively, to avoid injuries – for horses at every stage of training
Reduction of muscle tension and improvement of blood circulation
